It’s true that the average reporter has a big nose for a big story. It’s also true that the average reporter has a big nose for a big paycheck. So how do you measure your own self-awareness? To measure your own awareness you need to look at the salaries of other reporters. If you’re in an area that has a lot of local and national reporters, then these two things go hand-in-hand.
On most days you can count on finding a local newspaper reporter who is a bit more laid-back. They’ll get out of bed on time and will likely make at least some effort to be a good reporter.
Now I get that. The problem is that these reporters are also more likely to feel like they’re doing something wrong than you are who has a job that makes it easy to measure your own awareness. Because youre in an area that has a lot of both local and national reporters, then these two things go hand-in-hand.
To begin with, having a job that makes it easy to measure your own awareness is great. But then you are likely to find yourself doing something that is not actually that easy. So, if youre the local newspaper reporter in your area, you might notice that you get paid less than the person with a job that makes it easy to measure your own awareness.
So how do you measure your own awareness? Well your job is to watch the local news and write about the local news. While you might not be aware of how much money you are actually making, your work is helping the local economy. You are therefore helping to improve the lives of other people.
I got paid less? The local newspaper is actually a pretty good source of revenue for my region. My newspaper is a newspaper, but its most important revenue stream is advertising. When I write about how to grow my business, I am not only increasing revenue for the whole region, but I am expanding the audience who is reading my newspaper, and ultimately the readership of my newspaper.
But there’s a catch to that. Even if you’re a local reporter, and you’re making a decent amount of money writing about how to grow your business, that’s not enough money to afford a house. You’d have to spend at least $100,000 to buy a house in the Bay Area. And most of us don’t feel like spending that much, especially if we live in a region with a lot of expensive real estate.
Maybe that’s why I’m writing news articles. I’m actually making a lot of money from this, and I don’t have a lot of friends, but I made it. The cost of living here is high, but it’s not as high as places like South Dakota or Montana. And theres a lot of competition in the Bay Area.
Maybe our salaries aren’t what they used to be. Our salaries have been going down and down since we started working here. But that’s not true for everyone. We’re not all exactly millionaires, but a lot of us are on the lower end of the scale. And it doesn’t mean we don’t want to live here. We just don’t have the money.
People who make a lot are generally living paycheck to paycheck. Our salaries may not be what they used to be, but we do live paycheck to paycheck. The reality is that even if you make a lot of money, you’re still paying off student loans. We’re still paying off our mortgages. We’re still paying for our taxes. We still have to be paid to do our jobs. But not everyone has that luxury.
